I am a scientist with a doctoral degree in Health Sciences / Neurosciences, currently, working as Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University in the City of New York.

 

My main research interests are the understanding of the specific contribution of serotonergic projections in the brain to important behavioral functions, and its involvement in the manifestation of emotional and cognitive impairments.

 

Furthermore, I have vast research expertise in the mechanisms of adult neural plasticity (e.g., adult-generation of newborn neural cells, synapto-dendritic alterations, and epigenetic modifications) for the development, recurrence, and treatment of depressive-like symptoms.
